Michael (Mick) Guttau


Since 1972, Mick has held various positions with Treynor State Bank, currently Board Chair of the TS Banking Group with over 290 million in banking assets headquartered in Treynor Iowa.  Mick has served as a Director for the Iowa Bankers Association, and is currently serving as IBA Board Chairman.  Mick has served as President of Southwest Iowa Bank Administration Institute and past Chairman of the American Bankers Association Community Bankers from 1991 to 1992.  Mick has served as a Director of the Iowa Bankers Mortgage Corporation, Iowa Student Loan Liquidity Corporation, Iowa Business Development Finance Corporation and Iowa Seed Capital Liquidation Corporation.   Mick has served as the Superintendent of Banking with the Iowa Division of Banking from 1995 to 1999 and has served on the Board of Directors for the Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines Iowa in various roles including Board Chair, Audit Committee Chair, and Risk Management Committee Chair.  He has served on the Council of Federal Home Loan Banks, Washington DC as Vice Chair and Chairman.  Mick currently serves as a Director for Southwest Iowa Renewable Energy (SIRE) an ethanol production company in Council Bluffs, Iowa.   He received his B.S. in Farm Operations from Iowa State University in 1969 and completed numerous U.S. Army education programs from 1969 to 1978.  Mick is the 2010 recipient of the James Leach Bank Leadership Award.
